The law enforcement community is not immune from domestic violence. When this violence occurs, it must be directly addressed to assure that it is treated as the violent crime it is.

It's a very long, very difficult process and a very difficult case. We're still working on it and committing our resources and attention to it.

It shows that, at least in this state, we are making every effort to be proactive, rather than reactive.

There's a process. The complaint was received. We reviewed the complaint. We felt it was sufficient to pass on to the judge. He played his role in the process and a decision was made.

You wouldn't leave your kid on the side of the highway without supervision. You shouldn't put them on the Internet highway without the same type of supervision.

People who come under scrutiny as part of an investigation deserve protection as well. We want to protect the integrity of the investigation.

There should be a crime that addresses the degradation of this young lady, and we need to come up with a statute to address this type of abhorrent behavior in the future.

We want a program that really means something. To do that we are going to need additional funding and we're hoping the legislature will do that when the final budget is prepared.

This office is coordinating a very complex, painstaking investigation into issues that were first brought to the attention of the University of Connecticut police. We are still gathering evidence and researching what the housing laws are to determine if there have been crimes committed.
