Not too many of the players have really played yet. The weather has changed a little bit, the course was in pretty good condition it is just early season golf, but hey, the season is underway.

It's too bad Creston and L.C. weren't at full strength. Someone had to win and this was our night.

They had terrific matches. There's nothing to be ashamed of. Our kids worked hard and I proud of the effort.

That's what we wanted to do. We told them we wanted to see intensity and focus and we saw that. It was a plus to get the bonus points. Now we go match-by-match.

Our expectations were higher than what happened here. We weren't up to snuff today but it has been a good season. Columbus Junction has a good team but I felt like we did not show the desire to wrestle to our ability.

Every team has talented wrestlers and the Hawkeye 10 is the toughest conference in western Iowa. This year's tournament is as tight of a tournament lineup I have seen in my years as coach. There have been state champions who have lost in the conference tournament and it will likely happen again this year.

We talked about how important this last conference meet is to our seniors. We motivated the kids by emphasizing the importance of our seniors wrestling well in their last conference tournament.

We need to come ready to wrestle. You never know what might happen. Each match is critical.

This senior class has been the core of our team for three years. They have always gotten the job done.

Three guys breaking 40 is three guys that can break 80 (for 18 holes), and that's a team that can win states.
