But I don't think people are sufficiently concerned about this situation ... If we don't have enough nurses, a lot of things don't work well in health care.

The message is getting out to the public that nursing is a terrific field. We need the resources to take care of the people who really want to move into it.

Nor can medical schools charge what it costs to train a physician.

We need money that schools can use to expand classes. A lot of this depends on the sort of support the university can get from the state.

Nursing education is very people-intensive. You can't just put one more chair in the classroom.
