Georgia and Clemson is one of the oldest rivalries in the country. It's a natural fit and one that we are delighted has worked out in a way that suits the schedules of both schools. Some of the greatest college football games have been played between Georgia and Clemson over the years, especially in the 1980's, and we think this will be very well received by both Georgia and Clemson fans.

I know that we want Rodney Garner to coach at the University of Georgia. We're pleased with the job he's done, not just recruiting, but coaching. He's a good coach, but more than that a good man.

That is significant, because it shows there are opportunities available for minorities in upper level administration.

It's not a good idea to have the student-athletes from the opposing team going into the stands. One of the many reasons you have the SEC rule of not allowing fans to go onto the court is to protect the players. Anytime you get the players in the stands, it makes it that much more difficult for the event management to protect the players.

The numbers are very, very significant. He would pay us the same thing if he was to leave that we would pay him if we were to fire him.

It's unfortunate that in 2006 this is still a hot topic. I still think there are some issues out there, some hurdles that minorities and women face with higher ranking jobs, not just in athletic administration but the public and private sector as well.

There will be other incentives, but right now the graduation rate is something we consider very, very significant.

Coach Hartman has been an integral part of our athletic program over many, many years. He played a significant role in the growth and success of the athletic association and has touched the lives of Georgia people both young and old for the better part of a century. He has a very big place in the history and tradition of the University of Georgia.

This will be a great asset to the three sports that compete in the coliseum.
