I am very much a family man.

I don't want to be just considered a breakout comedic supporting actor. I want to be a breakout actor in anything that's a lead.

A lot of luck, and being prepared when the opportunity came. There are talented individuals out there who didn’t get the break that I got. Or when the break came, they weren’t ready for it.

Until Scrubs, I didnt have a business manager. I learned everything on my own – and I learned the hard way.

If you can figure out what their motivation is, then you’re ahead of the game. I think that’s why a lot of people who are in this industry don’t have a lot of friends – but have a lot of acquaintances – because you never know what everyone’s ulterior motives are.

There’s so many great things that come with being successful. The one thing that is weird is trying to figure out whose intentions are in the right place, and who is really on your team.

I don’t think there’s a problem with dating somebody outside of your race, as long as you’re doing it because you want to be with that person. Everybody tells you what you should do when you’re dating, but if you follow your heart, it usually works out.

There’s always fear. Always fear. Anyone who says they are not afraid is lying to you. Because this can all change tomorrow.

You’re always afraid of losing what you have. Regardless of success or anything, you’re always afraid.

If you have something to get off of your chest, there is a proper way to do it. Everybody has a bad day, and, for some people, you’re under a microscope and you have to deal with the consequences of having a bad day in front of people. But everyone has them.
