The disparity in land values is exactly the problem and the whole notion of the Williamson Act is to keep taxes down to keep farming affordable.

The General Plan is supposed to be pretty sacred.

It won't look that different. Not if we have anything to do with it.

We try to work with them and if we're creative we can eliminate two of the five lots. Incrementally over time, we've been able to eliminate some of the old lots.

We're not opposed to mitigation sites because we're also trying to develop a bank of preserves. But I do have a concern about where they're located.

To create smaller parcels would go against the General Plan. We have had proposals to split 80-acre parcels into smaller lots but we don't allow it.

Politically, that would be suicide. The time to do it was many years ago.
