Hopefully the government doesn't make travel any harder than it has to be.

That's their proposal right now, but hopefully they're looking at Michigan's proposal and maybe there'll still be changes.

If we go through all the same steps to issue a Real ID as would be done for a passport, then it doesn't make sense to make the people get another ID to travel.

Sept. 11 changed a lot of thinking about security, especially with the borders. But if you're going to do this right, it takes a while to plan and fund it.

With their program, they're basically saying it should be good enough for a border crossing, and all the other states are behind them on this issue.
