In some instances local IEC offices were not aware of this and did not accept the submission.

After that we will print the ballot papers and on February 13 the IEC will issues certificates to candidates.

They have made generators available to us in certain areas.

I urge voters to register or re-register as a matter of urgency and not to delay it beyond this week. They will only be able to do so until the elections are formally proclaimed in the Government Gazette, and that could be imminent.

We closed our doors at 5pm. We had a number of parties that came after 5pm, but because we are very strict with our time we did not except nominations from any party or candidate who came after five.

The process has been fairly smooth with only minor hiccups.
