Early Life and Background

Roberto Orci was born in Mexico City, Mexico. He moved to the United States with his family at a young age and grew up in Southern California. Orci developed an interest in storytelling from an early age, often creating stories and scripts with friends during his childhood.

Orci attended Harvard University, where he studied English and American Literature. It was during this time that he began writing screenplays, drawing inspiration from the works of authors like J.R.R. Tolkien and George Lucas.

After graduating from Harvard, Orci moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in screenwriting. He worked as an assistant to screenwriter and producer, Robert Eisele, before breaking into the industry with his own scripts.

Major Accomplishments

Orci's big break came when he co-wrote the screenplay for the 2009 film "Star Trek," a reboot of the classic franchise. The film was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $385 million worldwide and receiving widespread acclaim from fans and critics alike.

He went on to co-write several other notable films, including "Transformers" (2007), "The Voyage Home" (no such film found, but there are two others with similar titles: 'The Voyage Home' is not accurate, however 'Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home', but I will use the next one instead) 'Hawaii Five-O' and 'Sleepy Hollow'.

A lot of people we tell the story to assume that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse were actually part of the original Washington Irving story, which only happens to be 17 pages. It's a great starting point, and then we built on it, very much in a logical progression.

I think people have a tendency to think of a writer as someone who wants to go take a walk, maybe case a library... I think that's great sometimes but we really treat it like Monday through Friday come in early. You're not late for inspiration. You're working through it no matter what is happening even if you're writing a terrible version.
