I feel blessed that I had an opportunity to be in the Big Ten for four years as a player and be in the Big Ten as a coach for eight years. To get 12 years in a conference like the Big Ten – it’s a first-class league with great towns and great fans.

You create shots for yourself by what you do without the ball more than what you do after you get it.

I’m a Christian first. I’m a family guy second. As much as I like coaching, as much as I like basketball, it’s third, fourth, or fifth down the line.

I woke up and I was upset. A lot of times I watch tape, and I pause it and see what's going on. That would have been a neat game to switch over and see what he's doing.

This gives us a chance to get some rest. It's been a long grind for us. So we want to take complete advantage of the break.

This isn't the end of the season, but it's a bad defeat.

My only focus is on our team. All my efforts and passion and enthusiasm are on this Hawkeye basketball team.

This is probably the most uptight I've been all season. Just because you wanted to win this game so bad.

This is not a make-or-break game, but it is a game that is very important to us. It would be nice to actually have some success (on the road) before we start the Big Ten on the road next week.

That first group of Manchester players allowed me to enjoy coaching at a very young age that motivated me to do it. If it wasn't good, I might have made a career change.
