In my heart, these survivors represent the city that San Francisco became. They personally may not have poured the cement and pounded the nails, but they rebuilt the city.

I'm telling people this is not a Broadway musical. I think it's blasphemous. It's almost sacrilegious.

It's a commemoration ... and there's a lot to commemorate. We built a city that can stand up to any city in the world. There's nowhere like San Francisco. You can be anyone in the world and feel like you fit in here.

Frances and Violet are wonderful, lively characters ? I love them all. These survivors are incredible, irrevocably amazing people.
