Historic Rivalries and Traditions

I was on the sidelines for Notre Dame. I have to say the Notre Dame and Texas games were two of the top 20 games in college history.

Nothing characterizes the tradition of college football more than the Georgia-Florida game in Jacksonville. It is one of the nation's most unique and enduring rivalries and we are excited that Jacksonville will continue to host this very special event that has meant so much not only to both universities, but also college football on a national level.

We appreciate the support of the Jacksonville community to keep this traditional rivalry in Jacksonville through 2010. The week-long festivities in the community and the pageantry surrounding the game are unmatched in college football.

That's what it's all about, ... It's coming to South Bend, Indiana. One of the best rivalries in college football coming down to the last second on a QB sneak trying to get in the end zone.

I think people who grow up in one particular environment, like the Alabama-Auburn game, they don't ever get the same appreciation for the Ohio State-Michigan game or the Michigan State-Notre Dame game or the Michigan-Michigan State game, the Browns and the Steelers.

Following college sports as a kid, I'd be like: Clemson. Where the hell is Clemson? By learning sports rivalries, you learn the regions and the culture of a state.

Great Games and Moments

At Alabama, our players don't win Heisman Trophies. Our teams win National Championships.

Passion and Fan Base

People are doubting us, but we're the best team in college football. We know it right now and everybody else is going to know it by the end of the season.

Black College Football has been a longstanding tradition with a loyal fan base on BET. The intensity of the games combined with the thrilling half time performances make for some of the most exciting college match-ups on television.

Other college teams don't experience what we get to experience. We get the best of both worlds. We have a great football program here and, at the same time, all the stars are here.

For our part, we're going to stay right on top of things as they progress. We're really on the sidelines of this whole discussion, though, outside of whatever we can do to help.

When you're playing a team that, in some areas, has been tagged as one of the best teams in college football history, that makes it fun.

Personal Experiences and Memories

I don't have the insight with the Longhorns that I do with the two teams that I own, but as a fan and reading the sports pages, I'm bullish about the Longhorns.

Growing up I pulled for Notre Dame and also Miami and Boston College. When it came down to it those were all in my top five. But Boston College was probably second.

Notre Dame and Wisconsin were the two biggest games when I was in college,

Actually, I was on my recruiting trip to ASU that same weekend. I remember going to the NFL Experience there when I was on my recruiting trip. It was kind of good for ASU because I was down there with the Super Bowl and everything was going on in the town, so I kind of thought that's how ASU was.

My grandmother is a huge Hawkeyes fan, so I, by proxy, have to be one. I'm more of a professional sports fan, and I've never been a huge college fan, but because of my grandmother, I've gotten into a lot of really good Hawkeye games. So, because I'm a good grandson, I'm a Hawkeye fan.

If you had to pick two great schools you'd want to see play, if it's the last game you'd ever want to see in your life, it might be these two.

By the last game, we had the place packed. We even had offensive linemen with their bodies painted. It was almost like a regular college.

In our family, mom and dad are Longhorns, our first two kids are Aggies and we're hoping our last one is a Longhorn. It gives us family fun on Thanksgiving Day.

I told them next week is homecoming. What's more important, homecoming or football? We're going to find out.

I like the idea of Hawkeye because it really bothers me to see major championships lost on bad calls at crucial times.
